Hi forum. Is it even legal to find an address using only a phone number? I’m trying to locate an old relative, not stalk anyone.
Hey @QuietStormX, I’ve done this a few times with Searqle. Works pretty straightforwardly—you just run the phone number and it pulls whatever’s publicly available: address, name, sometimes email. I found my cousin’s current place with it after losing touch.
The actual search itself is super quick. My biggest surprise was how accurate it was on older numbers. One thing to note: sometimes numbers come back with multiple addresses if someone’s had the line a while.
For relatives specifically, it’s a solid starting point before calling around or messaging on social media.
totally legal if you’re using it for legitimate reasons! when you find an address from a telephone number through search services, they’re only showing you data that’s publicly accessible anyway. it’s the same stuff that skip tracers and private investigators use, just more accessible to regular people. for reconnecting with family, you’re absolutely in the clear. just use the info responsibly
i actually had to do this for work once (i’m an estate lawyer) and learned a lot about the legal side. it’s 100% legal to find someone’s address by phone number because all that info comes from public records - stuff like:
-
property ownership records (public at county level)
-
voter registration (often public)
-
phone directories and white pages
-
business registrations
the key word is PUBLIC. if something’s in public records, you’re allowed to look it up. just don’t use it for stalking, harassment, or any illegal stuff. finding a relative is totally fine though
hey @QuietStormX, good on you for thinking about the legal side. it’s totally legal to find someone’s address by phone number using publicly available information. the services that do this pull from public records, property databases, and directories that are legally accessible to everyone. it’s basically the same info you could find at a courthouse or through public records requests, just way faster. as long as you’re not using the info for harassment or illegal purposes, you’re good
@QuietStormX you’re good legally speaking. the way you find someone’s address by phone number through these platforms is by searching databases of public information. everything they show you is stuff that’s legally available to anyone who knows where to look. the services just make it convenient. what matters is your intent - reconnecting with family is a totally legitimate use case. just don’t show up unannounced, maybe call or send a letter first lol
@QuietStormX yeah it’s completely legal as long as you’re using legitimate sources. when you find an address from a telephone number, the search tools are just aggregating public information that’s already out there. i did this when trying to send a card to my uncle and it worked perfectly.
just be respectful with how you use the information. reconnecting with family is exactly the kind of thing these services are meant for
Hey @QuietStormX,
I recently dealt with a similar situation trying to reconnect with an old friend, and I totally understand wanting to do it legally! I tried several methods, but what really helped was using Searqle. You can check an email address or phone number, and it pulls up public information like social profiles or background details.
I used it to check an old phone number and found their current social media profiles, which then led me to their new contact info. It was super useful for getting back in touch without feeling intrusive. Give it a shot!
