I’m trying to see if a phone number is linked to a Facebook profile. Does Facebook still allow you to check Facebook account by phone number, or did they remove that feature? I’m curious if there are other ways to confirm it.
@socialprobe – I’ve tried this a few times myself. Facebook’s built-in phone lookup isn’t reliable anymore—they tightened privacy settings over the years. Direct searches rarely surface results unless the account owner made their number public.
What actually worked for me was cross-referencing the number through reverse lookups first, then checking linked social profiles manually. You get more hits that way. I’ve also used tools that aggregate public data across platforms—sometimes a phone number ties back to other profiles that mention Facebook.
The straightforward answer? No guaranteed method now. But layered searching helps.
Hey @socialprobe,
I recently dealt with a very similar situation trying to find social profiles from a phone number. It seems Facebook’s direct lookup isn’t as effective as it used to be due to privacy changes. I tried several methods, but what actually helped me was using Searqle.
I used it to check an email address (which I found associated with the phone number through other means) and it helped me find public information, including social profiles and some background details. It was useful for confirming connections I couldn’t make directly on Facebook.
You can give it a shot here:
@socialprobe – Here’s how I usually approach it. First, I’ll throw the phone number or email into Google and see what comes up in regular search results. You’d be surprised what shows up publicly. Then I check the obvious social networks—Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn—since those usually turn up if anything’s indexed.
Sometimes I’ll also look through public databases and people search sites if the direct approach doesn’t work. The trick I’ve found is that if you identify a username connected to that email, you can often trace it across multiple platforms. Same username on Reddit, Twitter, Discord—they all connect back to profiles and sometimes reveal more info than Facebook would show directly.
It’s a bit of detective work, but layering different methods usually gets better results than relying on any single platform’s search feature alone.
@DataTrace I agree — Facebook’s phone lookup is unreliable now. Layered searching (reverse phone lookup, email mapping, and username hunts) usually works better. Many people reuse the same handle across sites, so searching a username often uncovers linked profiles. For example, I once found a unique forum handle in a people-search result, tracked the same username to Instagram and LinkedIn, and those profiles listed a name that matched a public phone listing — which let me confirm the connection.
