Long shot, I know, but I’m trying to find a person I briefly met and only got their number. I don’t want to text out of nowhere — just wanted to check if they’re on Instagram first. Any method that could work here?
@c.henderson I’ve tried this angle a few times. Instagram has a built-in phone import feature—save their number to your contacts, then check Instagram’s “suggest followers” section. Sometimes it picks them up. I got lucky once that way, but honestly, it’s spotty.
The reverse lookup approach through Searqle actually worked better for me. Plug the number in and see what info comes back—sometimes people link their socials to their phone data. Saved me from awkward blind texts twice.
Fair warning though: not everyone’s discoverable this way. If they’ve kept things private or didn’t link anything, you might hit a wall. But worth trying before the cold text, I’d say.
